Christine Annette Smith

Christine Annette Smith , 78, of Keymar passed away peacefully at home on Monday, November 21, 2022.  She was the loving wife of Rodney William Smith for 57 years.  They were married on May 8, 1965.

Born on May 13, 1944, in Frederick, MD.,  she was the daughter of the late Homer Goins and Lillie (Houndshell) Goins.

Christine was a mortgage specialist for 20 years at Wells Fargo, where she retired.

She loved helping people and volunteering at New Midway Company.  She would from time to time go to Johnsville Senior Center.

Christine was a faithful member of Life and Liberty Baptist Church in Walkersville, MD.

She loved to bake and there was nobody that could make a Red Velvet cake like her.  She also enjoying eating crabs, going on vacation to Ocean City, MD, reading her bible and working crossword puzzles.  She really loved to spoil her family and friends shopping for that special item just for them. Christine treasured her grandchildren as well as her dog, Noah and her cat, Smoke.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Kevin Lee Smith of Keymar, Brian William Smith and girlfriend Tammy Jo of Hagerstown, and Brent William Smith of Keymar; two grandchildren, Eric Hunter Smith and girlfriend Emily Harrison of Indiana and Brittney Farrar and husband Glenn of Watertown, TN.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by siblings, Mary Goins, Thelma Klipp, Bertie Jones, Martha Howard, Denzel Goins, Algie Goins, and Mack Goins.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702.

A celebration of Christine's life journey will take place at 10:30 am on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, from the funeral home chapel. 

Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
