Clarence Oscar Flook, Jr. (Pete), 82, of Gaithersburg, Maryland, passed from this life on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Kline House in Mt. Airy, Maryland. Born October 1, 1943, in Middletown, Maryland, Pete was the son of the late Clarence O. Flook, Sr. and Deloris G. (Young) Flook of Middletown, Maryland.
Pete was born into the family dairy farm business, but after graduating from Gaithersburg High School, he followed his passion to drive a big rig and began his own company. As a young man, Pete enjoyed riding his prized horse, Thunder, and showing her at the community fair. One of Pete’s lifelong joys was riding his Harley, which he did until he let the handlebars go for the last time at age 79. Pete enjoyed riding his bicycle all over town, lifting weights, and taking long walks. Pete was also proud to have 40+ years of sobriety, he sponsored, mentored and shared all he could to help others.
Pete’s life was filled with the love of family, he lived a life of faith at the will of God's grace, he is survived by his loving daughter, Natalie Parnell (Steve) of Jefferson; one grandson, Garrett Zimmerman (Destiny) of Jefferson; two great-granddaughters, Raelynn and Harleigh Zimmerman of Jefferson, who he cherished dearly; his sister, Shirley Rexroad (Joseph) of Sparks, Maryland; and brother, Richard Flook (Susan) of Middletown. One niece, Laura Flook of Middletown; and one nephew, Christopher Flook of Washington, DC; his great-niece, Ryann Flook of Middletown; and great-nephew, Travis Flook of Washington, DC.
He is also remembered by his former wife, Nancy Littleton; and many friends along the way. Pete’s legacy is one of unconditional love, humility, and quiet strength. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro. Visitation will begin at noon until 1 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Rev. Allen Robinson will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will follow at the Boonsboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends directly after at the Boonsboro Bible Church.
