Darlene Mae "Sissy" Stull Morsberger

Darlene Mae “Sissy” Stull Morsberger, a lifelong resident of Brunswick, Maryland, passed away on Monday September 14, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family. Born on January 14, 1935, in Burkittsville, MD to the late James W. Stull and Emma G. Ausherman Stull.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, James “Jimmy” Stull, Jr; Robert “Bob” Stull; her husband, Douglas E. Morsberger, who passed away in 1980; her longtime partner, Calvin Heflin; and three of her beloved sons, Carl, James “Randy”, and Michael Morsberger

She is survived by her youngest son, Kenneth Morsberger of Brunswick; her granddaughter, Jessica Hrouda and husband Andrew of Jefferson; her grandson, Jared Morsberger and wife Sarah of Oakland, MD; and her three great-granddaughters, Abigail, Emily, and Charlotte, who brought so much joy to her life.

Darlene was proud to call Brunswick home for her entire life. Out of high school she worked for Western Electric in Washington, DC. After raising her young family, she worked for more than 25 years at Hartz & Co Sewing Factory - where she primarily did sleeves. While using her skills to often repair Levi’s jeans and make dresses for her granddaughter. After retirement in the mid 1990s, she enjoyed staying active and involved in the community she loved. Her and Calvin would be found dancing on Saturday nights at the Eagles Club. She did many day trips by bus with friends. She loved to decorate and enjoyed making flower arrangements and décor. She loved to shop and often would clothe her family for each new season. In her later years, she especially enjoyed helping to organize the Brunswick High School “Nifty Fifties” reunions. She really loved her classmates.

Anyone who knew Darlene knew that she was a wonderful cook. Her family and friends always looked forward to her fried chicken, cabbage rolls, dressing, pies and her much-requested American flag cake. Sharing food with the people she loved was just one of the many ways Darlene showed how much she cared for you.

Above all, Darlene was a strong woman whom had endured significant hardships with the loss of her family members. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a lifelong friend to many. She leaves behind family who will cherish the memories, traditions, meals, laughter, and love she shared throughout her 91 years.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at Stauffer Funeral Home 1100 North Maple Avenue Brunswick. A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, September 21, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Park Heights Cemetery Brunswick. Details to follow for gathering after her service.
