Darlene Zelma Wilson

Darlene Zelma (Robinson) Wilson, 84, of Germantown, Maryland passed away on December 11, 2023.  Born in Yancey County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Bertha and Vaughn Robinson. 

Darlene brought six children into the world.  Darlene and her young family moved to Maryland in 1969. She courageously and lovingly raised her children and went on to help raise further generations of grandchildren.  The foundation of her life was her family and her steadfast faith.  Darlene enjoyed music, decorating, and entertaining.  Darlene was an inspiration to all who knew her.  Her grit and determination removed any shyness of her opinions.  If Darlene thought it – everyone knew it!! 

Darlene is survived by her children:  Lisa Wilson (Scott Riley); Kim Jamison; Dan Wilson (Sally); Mark Wilson; Jody Petrakes (Gary), and Darren Wilson (Jennifer).

Also by her grandchildren:  Julie Djavadi (Reza); Brooke Redmer (Steve); Lauren Birrer (Michael); Olivia Wilson; Jill Geoffrion (Kevin); Jessica Wilson; Nicholas Petrakes; Alexander Petrakes; Nathen Wilson, and Gracie Wilson.  

Her five great grandchildren are:  Reza Djavadi, Hudson Redmer (due to be welcomed in March 2024); Michael Birrer, Charlotte Birrer, and Thomas Birrer.

Darlene was preceded in death by grandson Allen Wilson.

A viewing will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:00am at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeview Boulevard, Mt. Airy. Maryland 21771.  Interment will follow at Howard Chapel Cemetery, Mt. Airy, Maryland,  officiated by Roland Wilhelm.
