Daryl Lynn Wolfe, 69, of Smithsburg, Maryland, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026, at Williamsport Nursing Home.

Born March 27, 1957, in Hagerstown, Maryland, Daryl was the son of the late A. Elizabeth (Higman) Wolfe and Franklin Wolfe.

Daryl had a lifelong passion for photography and earned his bachelor's degree in photographic arts from Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California. His love of photography reflected his appreciation for capturing the people, places, and memories around him. Photos of him are limited, as he was often the person behind the camera to chronicle the moments as they were unfolding.

He worked for Roadway Express as a truck driver and was a member of Teamsters Local 992.

Daryl loved spending time outdoors as an avid fisherman and hunter, especially hunting at his family’s cabin. He had a wide network of friends and built many lasting friendships. To many of them, he was “Big D” - outgoing, personable, and always the life of the party in social settings. He enjoyed telling old stories and laughing with his many friends.

Above all, Daryl loved spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed bringing everyone together and preparing a meal, usually on the grill. He created many memories around good food and quality time spent together.

He was a member of Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church in Boonsboro, Maryland.

Daryl is survived by his daughter, Erin Anderson and her husband, Gary of Greencastle, Pennsylvania, and their children, Jailyn, Deidre, Avery and Blair; his son, Matthew Wolfe and his wife, Melissa of Lebanon, Pennsylvania, and their children, Holden and Hayden; and his brother, Dennis Wolfe.

A memorial visitation will be held Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Stauffer Funeral Home in Boonsboro, Maryland. A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Beaver Creek Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County in Daryl's memory.
