David Wesley Newcomb

David Wesley Newcomb, 62, of Woodsboro, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025, at his home.

Born on June 7, 1963, in Fullerton, CA, he was the son of the late Paul Francis and Joan Ann (Mclain) Newcomb of Hooksett, NH. David was the husband of Susan Beth (Kiraly) Newcomb, his wife of 15 years.

Dave lived in Dallas, Plano, and Wylie, TX; El Cajon, CA; Denver, CO; Montreal, QC; Kingston, ON; Erie, Harrisburg, and Monroeville, PA; and Woodsboro, MD. He graduated from Frontenac Secondary School in 1981; attended Penn State University and graduated in 1988 with a BS in Accounting that he did for his entire professional career. His last employer was Glen Mar United Methodist Church in Ellicott City, MD. Dave was a Dallas Cowboys fanatic, and loved rooting for the Nittany Lions. Outside of football, he was an avid fan of music, the arts, history, and loved traveling (whether he wanted to or not; hence, his ability to converse with anyone and make friends everywhere). He loved all forms of life with his variety of pets of cats, dogs, fish, a turtle, and even owls. He served as Captain of Maryland's Society of Mayflower Descendants (2020-2024). Dave became a compatriot in The National Society of Sons of American Revolution (SAR), Maryland’s Sergeant Lawrence Everhart Chapter in 2023.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his daughter Dallas A. Newcomb (husband Chris Downing) from East Haven, CT; his siblings Alice Kosiarski (Hooksett, NH), Maureen Newcomb (Fort Collins, CO) and Paul Andrew Newcomb (Pittsburgh, PA).

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until the start of the service at 2:00 p.m. at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702. Interment will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to Basset Rescue Of Old Dominion (BROOD), Education Through Music, Americans for the Arts, or The Hopi Foundation.
