Dayle Margaret Good

Dayle Margaret Good, 79, passed away on September 19, 2026, in Boonsboro, Maryland. Born on November 4, 1946, in New York, New York, Dayle was a loving wife, mother, sister, friend, and a cherished presence in the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Dayle was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Joseph Good, whom she married on September 1, 1968, and who passed away in August 2003. Dayle and Ronnie made a beautiful life and home in Deer Park, NY. After Ronnie retired, they moved to Frederick, MD, in 1993, and then in 2021 she moved to Boonsboro, MD, on a farmette with her family.

Dayle is survived by her three daughters, Dayle Matus and her husband CJ, Karen McClung and her husband Kevin, and Nancy Good. She also leaves behind her beloved daughter of the heart, Jessica Cissel, who held a very special place in her heart.

Dayle was the daughter of the late Lawrence Watson and Doris (Bradbury) Watson. She had a special loving bond with her sister, Nancy Hartten, and her husband, Steve. In addition, she was the loving sister of Doris Lynn Thomas and her husband Don, and Jayne Bongard and her husband John.

Dayle was a woman who knew no strangers. Her kind, warm heart and welcoming spirit made everyone feel like family. She was truly the life of the party and was always happy to see and spend time with people, whether they were lifelong friends, family members, or someone she had just met. Her warmth and happiness were contagious, and those who knew her will remember the joy she brought into their lives.

Dayle was a hard worker and instilled that same value in her daughters. Throughout her working life, while living in New York, she worked at Deer Park Animal Hospital and later, after moving to Maryland, worked at Glade Valley Animal Hospital. After years of working at Glade Valley Animal Hospital, she switched career paths and started working at Roy Rogers, where she loved working as a crew leader until she retired in 2023.

She had a deep love for animals and was surrounded throughout her life by the horses, dogs, and cats that she adored. There was one notable exception to her love of animals...chickens and birds were definitely not among her favorites.

Dayle found happiness in the simple things and in the traditions she created. She loved shopping at Hobby Lobby, crafting, driving, cooking, baking, and playing Old Maid. She especially enjoyed visiting her friends and family in New York, Kentucky, and Indiana. She loved game shows, Hallmark movies, and enjoyed the music of Toby Keith, Kenny Rogers, Elvis, and Garth Brooks.

Christmas was especially important to Dayle. She didn't believe in waiting until December to celebrate. She would often begin decorating for Christmas in October and could watch Christmas movies year-round. Her love of the holiday was on full display with her seven different Christmas trees, each helping make the season a little more magical.

Dayle also had a wonderful sense of humor and a few things that were unmistakably “Dayle.” She loved her Aunt Dayle Specials, Red Solo Cup, and some of her favorite expressions were: “Bye Felicia” and “No offense.” These little things, along with her laughter, her welcoming nature, and her zest for life, are the memories her loved ones will carry with them.

Dayle had many special friends who became family, especially Charlie and Cathy Hyde, John and Cindy Collins, Barbara and Corey Slater, Jimmy and Terrie Stup, and so many more.

Dayle will be deeply missed-not only for all that she did for those around her, but simply for the happiness she brought wherever she went. Her family and friends will remember her loving and compassionate heart, her ability to make people feel welcome, her infectious personality, and the love she gave so freely.

Though she is no longer with us, the traditions she created, the lessons she taught, the laughter she shared, and the love she gave will remain with her family and friends for years to come. And always remember...Aunt Dayle Loves You!

A memorial service celebrating Dayle’s life will be held on October 10, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, MD. The family will be receiving friends and family between 1:00 and 2:00. You may send flowers to the funeral home.
