Deanna Lee Prewitt

Deanna Lee Prewitt, of Walkersville, MD, went to be with the Lord on December 5, 2023. She had just celebrated her 82nd birthday.

Mrs. Prewitt had previously been a member of Temple Baptist Church in Covington, VA.

Mrs. Prewitt was born Deanna Lee Harvey on November 30th, 1941, in Beckley, WV, the daughter of the late Homer and Fay Harvey. She was also predeceased by her husband, Keith Prewitt.

After high school, Deanna attended Beckley College.  She worked at Communication Workers of America for several years, before eventually turning to nursing. She worked at the Vindobona Nursing Home in Braddock Heights, MD, and then the Woodlands Health & Rehab Center in Clifton Forge, VA.

After retirement, Deanna enjoyed playing board games (Scrabble in particular), crocheting, and spending time with her family. She had also been a fan of baseball, having traveled to many games.

Surviving are her sister, Susan Dennie and husband, Jerry, of Hudson, NC; her brother, David Harvey and wife, Nancy, of Shady Spring, WV; two sons, Jim McMorrow and wife, Dana, of Leesburg, VA, Steve McMorrow and girlfriend, Tracey Carter, of Frederick, MD; one daughter, Karen Biederman and husband, Dan, of Ellicott City, MD; two grandchildren, Darcy and Jack Biederman; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces, and great-nephews.

The viewing will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12th, 2023 at Stauffer Funeral Home, located at 40 Fulton Avenue, in Walkersville, MD. Eulogies and sharing to begin at 4 p.m. with refreshments to follow. 

A Celebration Of Life will be held in Beckley, WV, at a later date.
