Debra Ann Reedy

Debra Ann Reedy, 63, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. Debra courageously fought cancer for 15 years and made the most of it with a smile, always keeping a positive outlook on life.

Born on November 19, 1959, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,  she was the daughter of Gloria (Remaly) Ciorra and the late Robert A.Ciorra, Sr.

She was the loving wife of Donald Reedy, her husband of 38 years.

She graduated from Shaler High School in 1978 and attended Beatty Tech School for dental assisting.  She was a dental assistant for 41 years and loved what she did.

She worked for Dr. T.G. Hutton for many years followed by working at the Frederick County Health Department Dental Clinic where she also started the Outreach program for children.  

She loved traveling with her husband and going on cruises with their friends. She enjoyed teaching children to learn about dental health around the community and at countless elementary schools in the area. She also loved staying in shape and became a true gym rat.  She truly loved to shop and never hesitated to return her purchases if the opportunity presented itself.  Family was everything to her and she cherished time with her grandchildren.  

In addition to her husband, Donald Reedy and mother, Gloria Ciorra,  she is survived by her children, Morgan Lawson and husband, Brad Lawson and Jordan Reedy and wife, Emily Reedy; grandchildren, Bryce, Bennett and Maizie Lawson; siblings, Robert Ciorra, Jr. and wife, Cindy Ciorra and Kathy Nowinski and husband, Robert Nowinski; sister-in-law, Donna Beard and husband, Kevin Beard; brother-in-law, Ronald Reedy and girlfriend, Lourice Solomon Bato.  She is also survived by countless aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Robert A. Ciorra, Sr. and sister-in-law, Jayne Ciorra.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD. 21702.

A celebration of Debra's life will take place at 1:00 pm on Monday, January 23, 2023, at Stauffer Funeral Home.  Rev. Tim May  will officiate. 

Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, MD.

Memorial donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
