Delores Knight

Delores Blanche Knight (Mundy), 76, of Mount Airy, MD passed into the arms of her savior, Jesus, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday July 7, 2021.

She was the beloved wife of 58 years to Alexander “Junior” Knight, Jr.

Born on April 20, 1945, in York, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert H. and Frieda (Bailey) Mundy.

Delores loved everyone and knew no strangers. From teaching children, leading worship or preaching, she actively served her church family, at Ridgeville Pentecostal Church. She also loved to travel singing gospel music with her family and friends. She made every family gathering special with her famous homemade pies, guests left feeling full and part of the family. She cherished time spent together with her ever-growing family, her heart especially expanding with each new grandchild/great grandchild that she affectionately wrapped in her arms.

In addition to her loving husband, Delores is survived by her sons, Alexander “Andy” Knight, III (Darlene) of Mount Airy, MD; Michael Knight (Teresa) of Mount Airy, MD; Brian Knight (Cheryl) of Mount Airy, MD; Stacey Knight of Mount Airy, MD; daughter, Tracy Justice (Eric) of Hagerstown, MD; sister, Lois Pritchett (Sonny) of Cambridge, MD. As well as her 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren that she adored and many family friends.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Yvette Cutsail; sisters, Helen Steneman, Betty Browning and Ruth Sheets; brothers, Larry Mundy, Marlin Mundy and Gerald Mundy.

The family will receive family and friends for visitation at Stauffers Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd, Mount Airy, MD 21771 on Sunday, July 11, 2021, from 3:00pm-5:00pm and 7:00 - 8: 30pm. A funeral service will be open to all that wish to attend at the Boonsboro Family Worship Center, 7605 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, MD 21713 on Monday, July 12, 2021 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at the Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery, Mount Airy, MD.
