Mr. Dennis Ray Blalock,72 , MSG U.S. Army Ret. 1st of 7th Cav.,of Thurmont MD, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015. He was the husband of the late Lillian A. Blalock.
Born October 4, 1942 in Liberty, Mississippi. He was the son of the late Hazel Angelina Daugherty and Fendrick Scott Blalock.
Dennis proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, from which he retired. He owned and operated Firedrake Art Studio in Thurmont, MD. Dennis was a gifted and internationally known Artist and Writer.
He is survived by his sister Carolyn Dollar and husband David, brother Glenn Allen Blalock and wife Cecelia and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by sister Virgina Blalock Albritton, brother Fendrick Malin Blalock and sister Charlotte Blalock Weathers.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 1PM at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St., Thurmont.
Interment will be private.
