Donald B. Barrack Sr., 87, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed from this life on Friday, April 10, 2026 at Doey's House in Hagerstown, Maryland. He was the husband of Carmencita Barrack, his wife of 3 years.
Born on April 15, 1938, in Heathsville, Virginia, he was the son of the late Booker and Marie Lackey Barrack.
A life well lived…
Anyone who knew my dad enjoyed his company and zest for life. As the second of 8 children, he was raised by Marie and Booker in a secure loving environment. After graduating from Richard Montgomery High School, he worked the following summer for the US Post Office before joining the US Navy where he served aboard the destroyer Des Moines while deployed overseas. Upon his return he began work at Haines Lithograph where he remained until his retirement some 40+ years later.
He was an avid golfer for most of his life before transitioning to riding touring motorcycles. He has circled the entire country as well as Canada logging several hundred thousand miles on 2 wheels. He was known for his infectious smile and good humor and was especially good with children. Although he will be sorely missed, we celebrate his life and take peace knowing he is with Jesus in paradise.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children: Diane Marsden and Donald Barrack Jr; grandchildren: Matthew Barrack, Joshua Barrack, Samuel Barrack, Samantha Barrack, Katie Marsden; great- grandchildren: Kolton Marsden and Lucas Hodge; siblings: Robert Barrack, Ernie Barrack. Judy Bugden, Kathi Sadtler, Dede Watson; as well as a large loving family of nieces, nephews, cousins, etc. He was predeceased by siblings James Barrack and Charles Barrack.
A celebration of Donald's life will take place at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro, Maryland. Interment will be private.
