Donald Edward Jones, Jr.

Donald Edward Jones, Jr., 69, of Boonsboro, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Meritus Health Care Center in Hagerstown. He will be missed by his wife of 49 years, Michele Jones.

Born on December 28, 1955, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Russell Lee Tritapoe Jr. and the late Margaret Patricia (Smith) Tritapoe.

Donnie graduated from Boonsboro High School in 1974. He was employed at the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission for 25 years then worked for AC&T until he fully retired.

He attended Pleasant View Church of the Brethren in Jefferson.

Donnie enjoyed hunting, camping, and Nascar.

In addition to his father and his loving wife, Michele, he will be missed by his sons, Shane and wife, Kandi, of Spring Mills, WV and Chad and his wife, Carrie, of St. James, MD; his grandchildren, Hailee, Madalyn, Lauren, Hannah, and Derrick; step grandchildren, James, Lorelei, and Jake; great-grandkids, Freya and Niklaus; his sister, Linda Boyd, of Inwood, WV; his brothers, Keith Tritapoe, of Falling Waters, WV and Rusty Tritapoe, of Boonsboro; mother-in-law, Mary Marker, of Knoxville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by father-in-law, Jim Marker.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home with Rev. Tim May officiating. Burial will be at Faith United Church of Christ Cemetery in Frederick. Those desiring, flowers may be purchased at 4065 Florals of Sharpsburg.
