Donald Eugene Lenhart, of Utica, MD, died Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Homewood at Frederick. He was the loving husband, of nearly 70 years, to Ella Virginia Wisner Lenhart.

Donald was born March 25, 1934, in Frederick, MD to Esther Marie Stup Lenhart and Chester William Lenhart. He graduated from Frederick High School where he exceled in track and field sports. He was offered a track scholarship from the University of Maryland but opted to enter the workforce and assist with running the family farm.

He married Ella Virginia Wisner in 1954 and had three children Tina, Tim and Terry.

He was a member of the Glade United Church of Christ.

Donald was an avid outdoorsman where he enjoyed hunting and fishing. 

The majority of his working career was spent as a maintenance electrician with M.A. Bioproducts Inc., Eastalco Aluminum Company and SAIC Frederick Inc. 

He is survived by his wife, Ella Virgina Lenhart; two children, Terry Byrnes and husband, Jerry Byrnes, and Timothy Lenhart and wife, Mary Lenhart; three grandchildren, Sam Byrnes and fiancée, Amanda Manalo, Nathan Lenhart and wife, Carrie, and Ryan Lenhart; one great-grandchild, Hazel Lenhart.; and sister-in-law, Mary Jane (Tootie) Leatherman Lenhart.

Donald was preceded in death by his daughter, Tina A. Lenhart; brother, Charles M. Lenhart and sister, M. Madeline Young; and brother-in-law, Harold Young.

There will be a private graveside service for the immediate family. A celebration of life gathering will be announced later.
