Donald William "Bill" Mills, Sr.

Donald William "Bill" Mills Sr., 90, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed from this life on Sunday, October 11, 2026 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Maryland. He was the husband of the late Anna Mae Mills for 46 years.

Born on April 27, 1936, in Big Pool, MD he was the son of the late Esther Marie Mills.

Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army and dedicated 40 years of hard work to Mack Truck as a machinist before retiring. He enjoyed NASCAR, birdwatching, and attending his family’s sporting events. A true lover of nature, Bill found joy in the beauty of the outdoors. He also had a special place in his heart for his son’s friends, many of whom looked to him as a second dad and friend. Bill will be remembered for his dedication, his love of family, and the lasting impact he had on the lives of those around him.

He is survived by four sons, Donald W. Mills, Jr, and wife Teresa, Jeffrey L. Mills and wife Karen, Mark L. Mills,and Darren S. Mills and wife Melissa; 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his son Brian K. Mills.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Thursday, October 15, 2026 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro, Maryland.

A celebration of Donald's life journey will take place at 11am on Friday, October 16, 2026, at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home.

Interment will be at Boonsboro Cemetery.
