Donna Lou Cummings

Donna Lou Cummings, 87 years old of 416 West B Street, Brunswick, MD, passed away January 18, 2026. Donna was born in Brunswick, MD on September 12, 1938, to James (Bus) Cummings and Mary Elmira Cummings.

Donna spent her early years at the west end of Brunswick making friends that would last a lifetime. During her teenage years, her family moved to Lovettsville, VA. Donna graduated from Loudoun County High School, where she was active as a cheerleader, dancing and skating into the hearts of her friends. These memories of her beauty and her talents in dancing and skating remained with her and her friends throughout her life.

Donna was independent, taking pride in her work with a memorable work ethic. She worked as an administrator at Union Station and rode the commuter train from Brunswick to Washington, DC for an impressive 46 years.

Donna will be remembered as a straight shooter, not leaving anyone to wonder where she stood. She was strong until the end, impressing staff & therapists at assisted living with her strength at the age of 87.

Donna was predeceased by her sister Elaine (Laney) Cummings. Donna leaves a sister Patti Potts (Larry), son Todd Cummings (Cathy), daughter Debbie Johnson (David), 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. In her final years, Donna found both a friend and an angel in Susie Brown, who was her companion and caregiver until the end.

The family will receive friends from 11 AM until 1 PM on Friday, January 23, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Maple Avenue, Brunswick, MD where the funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Old Brownsville Cemetery.
