Donna Flickinger Green, age 82, formerly of Union Bridge, passed away peacefully to her eternal home on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Tranquility, where she resided, due to complications from dementia. She was born in Frederick, MD, to the late Donald and LaRue Flickinger, on November 18, 1942. Her husband, Rev. John D. Green, Jr., predeceased her in 2004, after 43 years of marriage.
She was a graduate of Francis Scott Key High School, the first graduating class in 1960. Following graduation she worked as a legal secretary, until the birth of her children, where she then was a full-time homemaker and mother. For many years she worked with her husband in the insurance business out of their home until in 1985, when John became a full-time pastor at Bush Creek Church of the Brethren where she worked faithfully along side him until his death.
Family was everything to her, she loved her family with all her heart, enjoying beach vacations with the whole family for many years at Myrtle Beach, SC. She enjoyed traveling, watching the Baltimore Orioles and loved to shop.
She is survived by her two children, Jack and Beth Green of Walkersville, and Jane and Jeff Musselman of Libertytown; and four grandchildren, Jennifer (Ben) Wilson, Jessica (Jordan) Dixon, Matthew Green and Mollie Williams (Markise). She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Lily, Shay, Leah, Parker and Baby Mason due in August. Her brothers, Gordon (Peggy) Flickinger and Richard (Diane) Flickinger; and special friend and companion, Richard Coats.
She was predeceased by granddaughter, Natalie Elizabeth Green.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Bush Creek Church of the Brethren, 4821A Green Valley Road in Monrovia, MD.
A celebration of Donna's life journey will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2025, at Bush Creek Church of the Brethren. Rev. Wilkie Nunn will officiate. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery near the church.
Memorial donations may be offered to the Bush Creek Church of the Brethren. Expressions of sympathy may be offered to the family at StaufferFuneralHome.com.
