Doris Lillian Exter

Doris Lillian Exter, beloved wife of the late John C. Exter, Jr. passed away peacefully at her home in Mt. Airy, MD on Thursday, March 5, 2026 surrounded by loving family members. She was proceeded in death by her daughter, Brenda J. Smith of Mt. Airy, MD, and is survived by her sons, David A. Exter of Brenham, TX, his wife, Mary Ann; her son John C. Exter, III of Lutherville, MD, his wife Rita; and her son-in-law Barry Smith of Mt. Airy. Doris had 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

The daughter of Archie and Lillian Schweiger, Doris spent much of her life living in Dundalk, MD raising her family there amongst close family and friends. She was an avid crafter, gardener, reader and puzzler, as well as an active member of the Baltimore Kickers German Club.

Funeral services will be held a later date.
