Doris Lorraine (Shockey) Martz

Doris Lorraine (Shockey)  Martz , 92, of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, passed from this life on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Shippensburg Rehab & Healthcare Center. She was the wife of the late Gerald B. Martz Sr., who predeceased her on February 11, 2015.

Born on April 5, 1930, in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of  the late Charles and Margie Miller Shockey.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family. In earlier years, she worked at the Waynesboro Knitting Mill in Pennsylvania and the Federal Silk Mill in Williamsport, Maryland.

She is survived by her children, Teresa Keefer and husband Randy, Gerald Martz Jr., and Pamela S. Kline and husband Gary; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Mrs. Martz was predeceased by two sons, Ricky L. Martz and Clark L. Martz; two granddaughters, Stacy Jones and Angie Mills; one great-granddaughter, Scarlett Keefer and a great-great-grandson. She was the last of her immediate family and was predeceased by a brother, Charles Robert Shockey; and five sisters, Donna Rouzer, Thelma Rouzer, Bessie Socks, Mary Koontz and Gladys Weddle.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro, Maryland.

A celebration of Doris's life journey will take place at 10:00 am on Friday, December 30, 2022, at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home. Rev. Todd Lady will officiate. 

Interment will follow at Boonsboro Cemetery.
