Doris Estella Shriner

Doris Estella Shriner, 93, of Thurmont, Maryland, passed from this life on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born on October 31, 1929, in Loys Station, MD, she was the daughter of the late Glenn I. Harbaugh and Estella G. (Long) Harbaugh.

In earlier years, Doris worked at the Thurmont Shoe Factory. 

She loved and adored her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She will be greatly missed.

Doris is survived by her children, Christine Shriner, Darlene Seiss (Tommy), Donald Fuss, and daughter-in-law Joanne; 16 grandchildren and spouses, 29 great-grandchildren and spouses; 12 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Jenna Lea Ott, Glenna Willhide, Madeline Valentine (Bob) and Rodney Harbaugh (Laura); and many nieces and nephews. 

She was predeceased by her husband, Francis L. Shriner; two granddaughters; two grandsons; a son-in-law; a sister, Frances Topper; and three brothers-in-law, Bill Topper, Tink Ott, and Dick Willhide.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday, July 16, 2023 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 104 East Main Street in Thurmont.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am on Monday, July 17, 2023 from the funeral home chapel. 

Interment will be at Creagerstown Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Frederick Health Hospice or to St. John's Lutheran Church in Creagerstown.
