Doris Rebecca Stroup

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Doris Rebecca Stroup of Middletown, MD on August 2, 2023. Doris was a loving and devoted mother and friend to all whose lives she touched.

Born December 6, 1931 and raised in Brunswick, MD, she was the daughter of Michael K. Taylor and Bertie Irene (Arvin) Taylor Frye. She was a graduate of Brunswick High School.

She was the beloved mother of Stephen Stroup (Denyelle), Harrisonburg, VA; Scott Stroup, Frederick; proud grandmother of Taylor Stroup, Harrisonburg, VA; Katie Stroup, Winchester, VA; and sister to Wanda Jones (Ron), Berryville, VA.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters Jane Cage, Vida Smith, and Peggy Fambrough.

Doris lived a full life as a wonderful mother, homemaker and later, a bookkeeper. She instilled in her sons strong values that have served them well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Graveside services for the family will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Park Heights Cemetery, 710 East H Street, Brunswick, MD 21716. Officiating will be Pastor Tim May.
