Doris Virginia Waters

On Friday, August 8, 2025, God opened the gates of Heaven to welcome His daughter, Doris Waters, to her heavenly home.

Doris Virginia Waters was born on November 16, 1950 in Frederick, Maryland to the late Zelma Anderson and James (Pops) Hicks. She graduated from Linganore High School in 1968. Doris worked at Thomas English Muffin in the Bakery for twenty-six years and later employed at Montgomery County Public Schools as a Bus Assistant. As a young adult, she was an avid softball player and ran track for her high school.

A devoted member of Faith Church God, she served as the First Lady since 1991.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Robert H. Waters, her parents and her brother, James.

Doris is survived in death by two sisters, Tammy Jackson and Christy Miles.

A funeral will take place at Stauffer Funeral Home 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702 on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at 11 a.m. Friends and family will gather at 10 a.m. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her.
