Dorothy Anne Bowman

Dorothy Anne Richard Bowman, 106, of Woodbine, Maryland, passed from this life on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at her residence.

Born on January 7, 1920, at home in ,Quicksburg VA, she was the daughter of the late "Big Ed" Richard and Margaret Frances Collins Richard.

She was the first child of her father's second family. They moved back to Mt. Falls, Virginia where she attended a one room schoolhouse through the seventh grade. She finished high school in Mt. Rainer, MD. Dorothy met her husband Stanley E. Bowman while both were working for Holbrook Dairy.

They had three children: David Keith Bowman born in September 1947 and died February 1948, Annette LaRue born September 18, 1949 and Mark Preston born December 8, 1951. They moved to Woodbine where they lived the rest of their lives.

Dorothy loved family, friends, her faith and nature. She was always helping someone and no one ever left her home hungry or empty handed. We will miss her but know she is watching over us.

A graveside service and interment will take place at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 22, at Poplar Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery.
