Dorothy Sharon Buppert

After a courageous battle with liver cancer, Dorothy Sharon Buppert passed from this life and into the loving arms of God just after a beautiful sunrise on Friday, April 17th. The sky was clear and blue, as it needed to be to accept all her goodness into Heaven.

She was born in Washington, DC, on November 7, 1950, to Dorothy and Joseph Payne. Sharon married Jim Buppert on November 1st, 1968, and were married for 57 wonderful years, raising 2 sons, one dog (Odie), at least 5 “stinkin’ cats” and enjoying 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She worked most of her career within the banking industry, even working for the 1st woman-owned bank, First Women’s Bank in Rockville, Maryland. Sharon was also a committed member of First Baptist Church in Frederick.

Left behind are son Keith Buppert, his wife Kristi and their children Nicholas, Jordan, and Abby. There is also son Chris Buppert, his daughter Liza, his wife Abby and their daughter Wren. Nicholas and Anna gave our Wawa and Pop two (great!) great-grandkids, Holden (7) & Talia (3), while Jordan and husband Austin have Julian (2). Sharon was one of 8 siblings: Paula, Joe, Brenda, Angie, Cynthia, Lori, and Robin. Sharon had a very large extended family of aunts/uncles, cousins, in-laws, friends and neighbors, who are too many to list. She possessed a natural instinct for the care and love she gave to everyone she knew. We rejoice that she is resting in Heaven with friends & family (and Odie) who preceded her journey. She was a wonderful wife, she was our mom, our Wawa and our friend who is loved and will be missed more than she could have ever known.

There will be no service or burial, but a private memorial service to celebrate her life will be arranged in the near future.
