Dorothy Porter Davis

Dorothy Porter Davis, 97, of Damascus, Maryland, passed away from this life on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Glade Valley Nursing Home in Walkersville, Maryland. She was the wife of the late William Richard Davis who died in 2023.

Born on September 28, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Addie Bennett Porter. Mrs. Dorothy Davis worked for the federal government as a budget analyst in Washington D.C. for 45 years. She enjoyed quality time with her family. She is survived by two stepsons, Rick Davis of Frederick, Maryland, and Randy (Debbie) Davis of Walkersville, Maryland. She had eight grandchildren: Joshua (Jessica), Jeremiah, Leslie Ingram (Rick), Christina Davis (Larry), Michelle Schiller (Paul), Lindsey Davis (Sidney), Gabrielle Davis, and Madison Davis; eight great-grandchildren: Elise, Everett, Oliver, Katie (Bailey), Farrah, Sidney, Zachary, and Suri; and one great-great grandchild: Annastasia, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She will be remembered by a special friend, John Hoffman. Dorothy was preceded in death by a brother, William E. Porter.

An appreciative and a big thank-you goes to Frederick Health Hospital and Glade Valley of Walkersville, Maryland, for all their empathy and warm heartedness. The kindness shown and the comfort provided will never be forgotten.

The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 PM on Friday, September 19, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville, Mt. Airy, Maryland, 21771, where a celebration of Dorothy's life will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 20, Pastor Jerry Beall will officiate. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Mt. Airy.
