Dorothy Jean "Dee" Faulkner

November 16, 1942 — December 20, 2025

Mt. Airy

Dorothy Jean "Dee" Faulkner, 83, of Mount Airy, Maryland, passed away peacefully from this life Saturday, December 20, 2025, after a brief illness, at Kline Hospice House in Mount Airy, MD. She was the beloved wife of the late Roland "Bud" Faulkner, Jr.

Born November 16, 1942, in Cannonsburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Bertha (Shannon) Bittner.

Dee, most commonly known as "Momma Dee", began her career working as a secretary for Vitro and Bechtel. She and her husband became interested in roller skating and would take her family to Congressional Roller Rink every Saturday night. Learning that a new roller rink would be opening in Frederick, she then joined and played a huge role in the Skatehaven family, as the snack bar manager often spending 7 days a week there alongside her family. Bowling then became an interest, which led her to working in the snack bar at Terrace Lanes for several years. Many grew to know and loved her and nicknamed her "Momma Dee". Besides roller skating and bowling, her other hobbies included crafting, word search, bingo, road trips with many friends, and especially spending time on slot machines whenever the opportunity arose. She loved Las Vegas!

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and family was everything to her. She had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone.

She leaves behind her daughter Liz Baker and her husband Harry, son Kevin Faulkner and his wife Judy, grandson Corey West, granddaughter Ashley Wiles and her husband Jessie, granddaughter Madison Marinaro and her fiancé Rian and 6 great grandchildren Kodi, Lilly, Ben, Raelyn, Macy and Laney, along with many families and friends.

She also leaves behind and a special thanks to her most treasured best friend, Wanda Wiley. Their friendship was a bond that would and will never be broken.

She was predeceased by son, Jeffrey Faulkner, grandson Robert "Boo" Faulkner, and brother George Shannon in addition to many other family and friends. We know their reunion was a joyous one.

A celebration of Momma Dee's life journey will take place at a later date. She will be deeply missed!

Memorial donations may be made, in her honor, to the Kline Hospice House.
