Mrs. Dorothy Cecilia Blodgett, 78, of Mt. Airy, died on Thursday, August 14, 2008, at her daughter's residence in Hagerstown.
Born on November 24, 1929, in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Frank Snyder. She was a statistician for the U. S. Government, retiring in 1997 after 42 years service. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, with her family being the most important thing in her life.
Surviving are 5 children: Carol Ann Maclaskey and husband Jay of Montgomery, TX, Janice Kay Boylan and husband Richard of Mt. Airy, Nancy Lee Hudson of Conroe, TX, Barbara L. Wright and fiance William Burson of Hagerstown and Joseph R. Blodgett and wife Patricia of Mt. Airy; grandchildren: Christina Marie Barnhart and husband Robert, Larry Broschart, Jr, Cheyne Maclaskey, Chase Maclaskey, Sean Hudson, Joseph J. Blodgett, Brendan Boylan, William Schaake, Shyann Dawson and Molly Blodgett; great grandchildren: Jared, Megan and Allison Barnhart.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM on Monday, August 18, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd, Mt. Airy.
Services: Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, August 19, with Deacon John Manley of St. John's Catholic Church, Frederick officiating. Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Park, Rockville.
