Dorothy Jo-Ann (Gloss) Birch, 67, of Chestnut Grove Road in Keedysville, Maryland, died suddenly at her home on September 2, 2009.
Born in Trego, Maryland on July 13, 1942, she was the daughter of the late George F. and Edith "Dolly" V. (Holmes) Gloss.
Jo-Ann was a member of the Mt. Briar First Church of God in Mt. Briar, Maryland. She also volunteered at Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro, Maryland, and was a member of the Olive Branch #34 Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her cousin, Ilva L. Gross of Keedysville, Maryland; several second cousins; and her best friend, Joyce Funk of Keedysville, Maryland.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. Rev. Joseph C. Burdette, Sr. will officiate. Interment will be at the Boonsboro Cemetery.
Friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday, September 4, 2009 from 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
