Duane Robert Ferguson

Duane Robert Ferguson, age 60, passed away December 17, 2022 after a short battle with AML Leukemia. He was born on January 21, 1962 to his parents, Rebecca and Harold “Fergie” Ferguson. He is survived by his loving wife Shari, daughter Lydia, son Cullen, step-daughter Paige, and step-son Brendan, his parents Rebecca and Harold “Fergie” Ferguson, his sister Karen along with numerous loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graduate of Catoctin High School and the University of West Virginia, Duane was a registered professional engineer. Duane recently started an engineering and landscaping business in St Thomas and also provided consulting services to SEA Limited. Duane, along with his business partner Dave Zimmerman, created the business Island Designs and Storm Water Solutions, in St Thomas. Duane loved St. Thomas and chose to help the island through his business. When not working on the island, Duane would enjoy the beauty of the place he called paradise, spending time with his family and friends, as well as spending time with Shari at his home property in Texas, kayaking and fishing on the lake.

Duane was full of life. Growing up he loved playing football, running track, playing the drums, going fishing and hunting, and hanging out with family and friends. Duane had a vibrant personality, an infectious smile, and was kind to everyone he met.  Everyone knows how much Duane loved his family and friends. He was a great drummer and played in several bands in both Maryland and Texas. 

The family will receive friends and celebrate Duane from 5-8 pm on January 14, 2023, at the Stauffer Funeral Home, located on 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702.
