Chief Petty Officer (Retired) Edgar Allen Franklin, 82 of Ijamsville, MD died February 3, 2024.

Edgar was born in Baltimore, MD 1941 to Roger and Maravonda Franklin.  They moved to Pittsburgh area shortly after his birth and he was forever loyal to the Steel City. After retiring from the Navy he settled in Ijamsville Maryland and went to work for the US Postal Service where he was recognized with an Ironman Award for going over 15 years without missing a day of work.  His full time job during this period was instilling leadership lessons, values and work ethic in his two sons that would serve as the foundation for their professional and personal success.

Upon retirement from the post office he could usually be found at the Maple Run golf course trying (unsuccessfully) to hit the ball straight and watching his grandkids sporting events and Catoctin High School Baseball.

He was preceded in death by his parents Roger and Maravonda Franklin and his sister Linda Sparks.
