Edith Sharon Minch (Hommerbocker), known lovingly as Sharon, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 10, 2026. She was born on November 2, 1952, in Baltimore, Maryland.

She is survived by her children: Scott Miller (Mirian), Jani Harper (Rob), William Minch (Sarah), Brad Minch, and daughter-in-law, Dawn D’urso. Grandchildren: T. Scott, Sean, Stephen, Steven, Collin, Cara, Hailey, Aidan, Liam, Kieran, Morrigan and Gavin Great Grandchildren: Arabella and Adalee and her dear sister: Sandra Bruno (Bill).

Sharon was a woman of quiet strength, deep compassion, and unwavering love. Throughout her life, she faced and overcame many obstacles, always persevering with determination and grace. No matter what challenges she encountered, she kept going - for her children, for her family, and for those who depended on her. She was the kind of person who would give the shirt off her back to help someone in need, never hesitating to put others before herself.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Sharon’s family was her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment. She was an amazing mom, a steady presence, a source of comfort, and a fierce advocate for those she loved. Her love was unconditional, her support constant, and her heart immeasurable.

Sharon earned her degree and fulfilled her calling as a registered nurse, a career that perfectly reflected her nurturing spirit. She worked in psychiatric nursing, labor and delivery, and the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, caring for patients during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. Her empathy, skill, and dedication left a lasting impact on countless individuals and families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edith and Grover Dunaway; her beloved granddaughter, Galina Minch; and great-grandson, Sean Miller Jr.

Sharon will be remembered for her kindness, resilience, and boundless generosity. If you knew her love for Herman’s Hermits, you knew a piece of her joy and personality. Her laughter, her strength, and her love will live on through the many lives she touched.

Though she will be deeply missed, we find comfort in the promise of faith, knowing she is at peace and rejoicing in the presence of the Lord. She was dearly loved and will be remembered always.

There will be no services at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, with details forthcoming.

Arrangements are with Stauffer Funeral Home, Frederick.
