Edith "Edie" Smith

Edith  "Edie" Ann Smith, 72, of Mount Airy, Maryland, passed from this life on Friday, April 22, 2022.

Born on May 5, 1949, in Washington D.C. she was the daughter of the late Omar James Dashiell and Martha Chase (Corbin) Dashiell.

She was the loving wife of Charles "Chuck" Smith, her husband of 32 years.

Edie graduated Walter Johnson High School, class of 1967.

She was an Executive for the Federal Government, retiring after 31 years.

She was a member of NARFE and enjoyed reading and traveling with her husband.

In addition to her husband, Chuck, she is survived by her daughter, Patricia Ann Wynkoop (Doug Finlayson) and son, William Cameron Wynkoop, Jr. and brother, Wainwright Corbin Dashiell (Dana Dashiell & Annabel Murton)

A Memorial Gathering of family and friends to celebrate Edie's life will take place at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Boulevard, Mount Airy, Maryland 21771 on May 1, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Interment Private.

Memorial Donations may be made in her name to American Heart Association.
