Edmund W. Mauzy, 91, died at his home in the Village of Rosemont, Maryland, on March 15, 2026.
Born on September 14, 1934, in Bolivar, West Virginia, he was the son of Joseph Kemp Mauzy, Sr., and Annie Zombro Mauzy.
He was a 1952 graduate of Harpers Ferry High School and worked for the federal government for 33 years, retiring in 1991 from the Department of Energy. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Harpers Ferry.
He was married on December 24, 1957, to Mary Ann Howe. They were together for 68 years, living in their home in Rosemont since 1964.
He is survived by his wife and many loving members of his wife’s family who loved him as Uncle Chirp or Pop. Also surviving is his lifelong friend, Donald Dahlin, of Arlington, Virginia.
He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Kemp Mauzy, Jr. (Jay) and many members of the Mauzy and Zombro families.
Graveside services will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the Fairview Lutheran Cemetery in Bolivar, West Virginia, with the Rev. Dr. John Unger officiating.
His family thanks Frederick Health Hospice for excellent and compassionate care, his several loving caregivers, and loving neighbors and friends for their kindness and help.
