Edna Fay Brown

Mrs. Edna Fay Brown, 76 of Frederick, died Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife for 39 years to Hector E. Brown.

Born in Rockville, MD on July 6, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Josephine (Dyer) and Reuben Coleman. Working in sales throughout her life, Edna worked as a store manager at Garfinckel Boutique, department manager at Lingerie/Foundation & Sleepware, and Better Dresses all in Washington, DC, and department manager for the Hecht Company in Silver Spring.

A former member of First Baptist Church in Rockville, she also sang in the choir. She enjoyed watching her 'Soap Opera's, shooting targets with her husband at the gun range, reading, cooking, sewing and collecting collectibles.

Besides her loving husband she is survived by five daughters; Joyce Brigham and husband Ronnie of Rockville, Lydia Brown of California, Paula Jeannie Campbell and husband Paul of Thompson, CT, Cynthia Tucker and husband Tim of Fairfield, PA, and Stephanie Brown of Hagerstown; two sons, John Watkins of Rockville, and Gary Brown and wife Myoung Suk of Texas; five sisters, Josephine C. Johnson of Herndon, VA, Elizabeth Eyler, of Marshall, VA, Doris Walker of Gaithersburg, Ruby Adams of Piedmont, SC and Nina Smith of Ijamsville; a brother, Reuben Coleman of Southern, MD; 18 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her two pugs, TJ and Princess.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty McFarland.

Services: Memorial services will be held on Sunday, February, 18, 2007 at 3:00 PM in the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
