Edward Bernard Jordan

Mr. Edward B. Jordan, 81, of Monrovia died on Thursday June 18, 2026 at Silverado Memory Care in Frederick, MD due to complications of dementia. He was the former husband of Mimi Trone Jordan and the late Mary E. Thompson.

Born on July 28, 1944 in Washington D. C., he was predeceased by his parents Edward S. and Alice C. Jordan.

Ed or Eddie, as most called him, was a proud graduate of St. John’s College High School in 1962, and Benjamin Franklin University, both in Washington, DC, earning a B.S. in Accounting in 1966. He was CPA and lifetime member of the AICPA and MACPA serving as President of the Capital Area Chapter and serving on many committees.

He held various accounting jobs in his career, most notably Corporate Controller for Watkins-Johnson Company in Gaithersburg, MD from 1978-1991.

He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Damascus, MD for 53 years where he was very active in the Men’s Club and Finance Committee. He was a 60-year lifetime member of Knights of Columbus Father Rosensteel Council in Silver Spring, MD where he served many positions including Treasurer. He enjoyed a successful coaching career with Mt. Airy Youth Athletic Association from 1978 - 1986. His pastimes were softball, bowling and rooting for the Redskins, Orioles and Terps. But his favorite was following and traveling with his three grandchildren’s sports careers from youth to high school through collegiate and semi-pro careers, and was simply known as Grandpa to many athletes.

He was predeceased by his brother Thomas P. Jordan

Surviving Ed are his children Lisa M. Jordan (George Hoff) of Westminster, MD, Brian E. Jordan and wife Sherry of Ellicott City,MD, Craig A. Jordan of Mt. Airy, MD, and Maggie A. Jordan of Frederick, MD; his grandchildren Steven E, Jordan, Travis M. Breidenstein and wife Logan, and Emma M. Jordan; sisters Rita J. Thompson and husband Joe, Elaine C. “Petie” Hance and husband Sam and sister-in-law Linda Ifft Jordan; and good friend and travel buddy Roger Eskut; as well as many special cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 9250 Damascus Road, Damascus, MD 20872. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 9190 Church Street, Libertytown, MD.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Paul Men’s Club or Alzheimer’s Association.
