Eleanor Ann Hubbard

Eleanor Ann Hubbard, 84, of Knoxville, Md passed from this life on Tuesday, May 7, 2024.  She was the beloved wife of the late Blair Hubbard.
Born on October 11, 1939 in Wilkes Barre, Pa. She was the daughter of the late John Garth Rhiel and Constance Rose Francione Rhiel.
 
Ellie quit school at the age of 14 to go to work to help her mother support the family.  She later completed a GED program.  She was a very active community advocate as a founding member of the Southern Washington County Tax Payers Association and was a board member of the Washington County Community Action Council and Washington County Headstart.  She also volunteered at both Pleasant Valley Elementary and Boonsboro Middle School, where she taught many children to read.  Ellie also was an adult leader for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
She was an avid reader and an accomplished potter and sculptor.
Ellie is survived by her four children, David and his wife Debra, Joshua and his wife Sherry, Zachary and Sarah.  Her six grandchildren Katie Hubbard and her husband Shane LaBrush, Samuel and his wife Meghan Hubbard, Bella Hubbard, Sadie Palmer, Mia Hubbard, Zoey Hubbard.  Her four great grandchildren Ella LaBrush, Nova LaBrush, Emmett Hubbard and Easton Hubbard
A Celebration of her life will be held in the fall.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County.
