Eleanor Anne (Kellam) Wells peacefully passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Shady Grove Rehab in Rockville, Maryland.

She was born June 1, 1938 in Narrowsburg, New York to the late Peter and Bertha (Stephenson) Kellam.

Ellie married Stephen “Bud” Wells in 1956. Ellie and Bud started their married life stationed in England. When they returned stateside, they moved to Arizona, Texas, Alaska, Massachusetts, Colorado, and back to Arizona before settling in Narrowsburg in 1977 after Bud's retirement from the Air Force. Ellie became one of the bus drivers for Narrowsburg Central Rural School District, a job she loved dearly for decades. Ellie enjoyed volunteering at the Lava Fire Department and the Tusten Ambulance Corp. She was well-known in the community for her delicious cakes and desserts for the many events held at the Fire Department.

Ellie was predeceased by Bud in 1991. Surviving Ellie are sons, Stephen (Shyla) of Anchorage, Alaska, Thomas of Narrowsburg, and Robert (Katherine) of Gaithersburg, MD; as well as her grandchildren, Michael, Jeffrey, Stephenie, Blake, Brennan, and Jessie.

A celebration of life will be held in Narrowsburg at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with interment at Glen Cove Cemetery on August 8, 2026.
