Elizabeth Burrows

Elizabeth P. Burrows, daughter of Elizabeth and William Parker, was born November 5, 1930 in Pittsburgh, PA, and died August 17, 2012 in Frederick.

She graduated from Middlebury College, VT, in 1952, and received her PhD in chemistry from Stanford University, CA, in 1956. Dr. Burrows held several academic positions and was last employed by the Army Medical Department at Fort Detrick and Aberdeen Proving Ground for 29 years.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Dr. Dickinson Burrows, whom she met at Stanford, and by her cousin, Thornton Lockwood of Demarest, NJ.

Services will be held at a later date and at the convenience of the family.
