Elizabeth Haines

Elizabeth Jane Haines, 56, of New Market, Maryland, passed from this life on Monday, August 4, 2025.

Born on October 26th, 1968, in Washington, DC., she was the daughter of Michael Harrigan and Winnie (Dommel) Harrigan.

She was a graduate of Damascus High School, class of 1986. After graduation, she attended the University of Maryland, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree. Elizabeth worked as a Program Specialist for the American-Speech-Language- Hearing Association (ASHA).

Elizabeth was a devoted mother and wife and more than anything loved spending time with her children, husband and family. She couldn’t have been prouder of her children Pete and Faith, and all of her stepchildren. She was also an awesome dog mom to her Great Pyrenees, Birch. She loved dinner dates with her husband and was a coffee and tea enthusiast! She enjoyed weekend coffee dates with her twin sister, children & nieces. She cherished spending time at the beach with her family every summer to release butterflies for her little sister Alison in heaven.

She is survived by her loving husband John Haines; her children Peter Worden and Faith Worden; and her stepchildren, Jack Haines, Will Haines, Maggie Haines, Larissa Worden and Victoria Worden. Parents, Michael and Winnie Harrigan; her father-in-law, Emory Haines and mother-in-law, Jessie Haines. Her siblings, Deborah Daymude, Michael Harrigan Jr., and his wife Marta; brother-in-law Jamie Daymude; godmother Nela Bowling; nieces and nephews: Amanda, Ashley & Alexis Daymude, and Cristhian, Jesus & Ashly Harrigan. Aunt and Uncles Pat Harrigan, Carlos Gonzalez, and Tom Dommel and his wife Liz. She is also survived by numerous cousins and many friends. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Fred and Jane Dommel, and Harold and Ina Harrigan; her sister Alison Harrigan; godfather and uncle, Bill Dommel; godmother and aunt, Judy Dommel; and her aunt and uncle, Donna and Ski Aller. We are confident they are watching over her now.
