Elizabeth R. Kerns-Daniels

Elizabeth Regina "Libby" Kerns-Daniels, age 77, of Thurmont, Maryland, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 9, 2026. She was wife of the late Armon E. Kerns who was her 2nd husband. Her 3rd husband, Gary E. Daniels, also preceded her in death.

Born on July 21, 1948, in Thurmont, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Milton Norris and Helen Iline (Starr) Butler.

Elizabeth worked for Potomac Edison, where she retired in 2003 after 38 years of service. After retiring, she then worked briefly as a Title Clerk for Bogley's Chevrolet. She was a member of the Thurmont American Legion Post #168 and the Thurmont Amvets Post #7. In her spare time she enjoyed growing roses and showing them as part of the Monocacy Rose Society. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and pets.

She is survived by her brothers, Clarence Norris and wife, Ples, Jim Norris and wife, Vicky, and John Alligood; her son, Matthew B. Kerns and wife, Katie; her daughter, Jamie E. Forney and husband, Bryan; and her grandchildren, Aaron Kerns and Elizabeth Forney.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Arlo Butler; her step-mother, Shirley Norris; and her step-son, Terry Kerns.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 104 East Main Street in Thurmont. The family will also receive friends one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.

A celebration of Elizabeth's life journey will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Stauffer Funeral Homes in Thurmont with Pastor Jay Petrella officiating. Final resting place ceremonies will be held at Blue Ridge Cemetery in Thurmont.
