Ella Virginia Lenhart

Ella Virginia Lenhart passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025 while a resident at Homewood Living of Frederick. She was the beloved wife, of nearly 70 years, to the late Donald Eugene Lenhart.

Ella was born November 18, 1935, in Frederick, MD to Lewis and Gladys Wisner. She graduated from Walkersville High School in 1953. She excelled in several sports, such as basketball. She married Donald Eugene Lenhart in 1954 and had three children, Tina, Tim and Terry.

She was a member of the Glade United Church of Christ.

Ella was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker. The majority of her working career was in banking with Frederick County National Bank, also known and FCNB for more than 30 years.

She is survived by her two children, Timothy Lenhart and wife, Mary Lenhart, and Terry Byrnes and husband, Jerry Byrnes; three grandchildren, Sam Byrnes and fiancée, Amanda Manalo, Nathan Lenhart and wife, Carrie, and Ryan Lenhart; two great-grandchildren, Hazel Lenhart and Henry Lenhart; and sister-in-law, Mary Jane (Tootie) Leatherman Lenhart; siblings, Fern Mercer, Kenneth Wisner, Wayne Wisner, Glenn Wisner; and sisters-in-law, Janet Wisner, Nancy Wisner and Joan Wisner.

Ella was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Eugene Lenhart; daughter, Tina Ann Lenhart; brother-in-law, Charles M. Lenhart; and sister-in-law, Madeline Young and brother-in-law, Harold Young; and siblings, Marshall Wisner, Meredith Wisner, Fred Wisner and Garnett Wisner.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Avenue in Walkersville, MD. Memorial services will begin at 2 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home in Walkersville. Interment to follow at Utica Cemetery - Saint Paul Lutheran Church, 10625 Old Frederick Road in Thurmont, MD.
