Ellen Lorraine Baque

Ellen Lorraine Baque (née Hummer), 78, passed away on Friday, March 13th, surrounded by her family. She was born on January 5, 1948, in Winchester, VA.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 54 years, Efrain G. Baque; her loving daughters, Merida Cunningham and Erika Baque; and her three beloved grandchildren, Gianna Baque, Madelyn Cunningham, and Matthew Cunningham whom she cherished and adored. She will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Iden Hummer and Hazel Irene Hummer (née Truitt), and her brother, David Iden Hummer.

Ellen graduated from Woodlawn High School and attended George Washington University. She spent most of her life in Germantown, MD where she raised her family.

Ellen dedicated over 40 years to the American Type Culture Collection in the Bacteriology Department. She was an animal lover who especially loved her “hound” dogs and enjoyed baking, reading, cruising and spending time with her family.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
