Ellen Pamela

Mount Airy Bible Church
Starts at 11:00 am (Eastern time)
Ellen Pamela “Pam” Medairy, 84, of Mt. Airy, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2026.
Born on February 21, 1942, in Mt. Airy, Maryland, she lived nearly her entire life in the town she loved, with only a brief detour to Damascus, Maryland. Known as the “unofficial mayor” of Mt. Airy, Pam was a beloved presence in the community-she knew everyone, welcomed anyone, and made people feel at home. She was feisty, full of spunk, and utterly unforgettable.
She spent many years teaching at St. James Nursery School, where she loved the children and their families and built lasting relationships beyond the classroom. She was also a loyal friend, with friendships that spanned generations.
A true force of nature with a servant’s heart, Pam was always moving-cutting grass, working in the yard, and helping wherever she was needed. In a later chapter, she worked with friends at a local flower shop, braving icy roads and even unfriendly dogs to deliver flowers across the community.
Above all, she was a loving wife, an amazing mother, and a devoted grandmother. For years, she faithfully traveled to Northern Virginia twice a week to care for and spend time with her grandchildren, who were her greatest joy. She was deeply engaged in their lives-present at sporting events, school productions, and every milestone that mattered. She was her family’s greatest source of support and unwavering cheerleader. She will be deeply missed.
Pam was preceded in death by her husband, Paul William “Bill” Medairy. She is survived by her son, Brad Medairy, and his wife, Suzanne, of Oakton, Virginia, and her beloved grandchildren, Ella, Graham, and Hayes.
Pam’s life was defined by service, strength, and steadfast devotion to the people she cherished most. She knew the Lord as her savior, and we look forward to seeing her again one day.
A celebration of Pam’s life will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Mount Airy Bible Church, 16700 Old Frederick Road, Mount Airy, MD 21771.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society. Expressions of sympathy may be offered to the family at StaufferFuneralHome.com.
