Emily Ann Smith born April 18, 1985 passed away on February 22, 2024, of natural causes. 

Emily was the loving daughter of the late William R. and Mary Jo Smith (nee) Vozzo, who she is now heavenly reunited with. Emily was originally from Glenside where she attended Norwood- Fontbonne Academy, Saint Luke’s School and Abington Junior High before attending Mount Saint Joseph’s Academy as a member of the class of 2003. Emily then attended Drexel University and received her degree in Biomedical Engineering. She continued her love of science and research as a John Hopkins Masters Student, as part of the CCR joint program in drug discovery. Emily continued her work in the Protein Chemistry and Molecular Biology Section of the National Cancer Institute in Frederick MD. Emily was a gifted scientist who was highly respected by her colleagues and friends. 

When Emily was not working, she enjoyed travel, sporting events, trivia, and trying new experiences. She enjoyed her life in Frederick Maryland and the friends she made during the last seven years. Emily is survived by her dear brother and travel buddy Matthew Smith and her aunts, uncles, and many cousins. Emily also leaves behind her faithful dog Genevieve who was her soul mate. 

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday, March 2, from 10 am, followed by a funeral Mass at Saint Luke The Evangelist Catholic Church 2316 Fairhill Avenue, Glenside, PA
