Estella Elizabeth Smothers Belt of Knoxville, MD passed from life on Friday, July 26, 2024, at the home of her brother. She was under Frederick County Hospice care.
Born April 1, 1928, she was the daughter of the Late Charles Jerome and Emma Mae Grayson Smothers.
She graduated from Lincoln High School, Frederick MD in 1946.
Before her retirement she was employed for over 43 years for the General Delmar family as a caretaker. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where she serviced as Eucharistic Minster during church service and to those that were sick and unable to attend services. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters. Estella was a volunteer at the Brunswick Heritage Museum; and a honored member of the AARCH Society’s Living Treasures.
Estella will be remembered by all who knew her as a kind, gentle and loving person.
She is survived by her brother James (Cynthia) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is also survived by special friends, Todd and Tara Lehtonen.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. On Friday, August 2 at Holy Family Catholic Community, 7321 Burkittsville Road, Middletown, MD 21769. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m.
Father Michael Rubeling will be the celebrant. Interment will be private.
