Esther Darlene Clements

Esther Darlene Clements, 75, of Thurmont, passed from this life on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026. She is survived by her loving sister, Barbara L. Clements.

Born on Sept. 6, 1951, in Mountaindale, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Esther Mae (Hewitt) Clements, and the sister of the late Jerry E. Clements.

Darlene attended Walkersville High School prior to working at the former Jeanne Buzzard Workshop as a clerical assistant. In 1972, she started her 40+ years of service, working at Fort Detrick as an assistant in the Scientific Library.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 5 from 10-11 a.m. at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 East Main Street, Thurmont, with a funeral service to begin at 11 a.m. Pastor Warren Rice will officiate. Interment to follow at Mt. Prospect Church Cemetery in Lewistown.
