Ethel Louise Turner

Ethel Louise Turner, passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, peacefully of natural causes, surrounded by family at The Macky & Pam Stansell House Coastal Hospice in Ocean Pines, MD.  She was 96 years old.  Ethel was born on January 14, 1927 in Washington, DC and worked for Safeway, Inc.

She married Clifford Turner in 1944 and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary just before Clifford's death in December 2004.  They welcomed Doris in 1945 and Frank in 1947.  Her family and her faith were everything to her.  She would tell each person how much she loved them and blessed them at the end of every visit and phone conversation.  Beyond spending time with family, she enjoyed sewing, collecting dolls and playing cards.

Ethel is survived by her daughter, Doris Howell (William "Bill) and son, Frank Turner (Kathleen "Kathy"); 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Springer, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Alton Turner; her parents, Frank and Airy Goldberg as well as 9 siblings.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 26 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, July 27 at 11:00 AM at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 9201 Green Valley Rd, Libertytown.  Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
