Evelyn M. Zeitz

Mrs. Evelyn M. Zeitz, 79, of Clarksburg, MD, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025 at her residence. She was the wife of the late John Gary Zeitz. Born on December 30, 1945, in Deposit, NY, she was the daughter of Walter S. Gruscavage and Doris M. (Mills) Gruscavage.

Evelyn was a 1964 graduate of Deposit Central High School and worked for many years at IBM. She then worked at the US Census Bureau and ran a home business, Peach Tree Solutions.

Evelyn and her husband owned farms, one in Thurmont, MD and one in Clarksburg, MD. For many years, they raised thoroughbred horses and grew crops.

She is survived by a brother, James W. Gruscavage and wife Pamela as well as a step-son, John Gary Zeitz, Jr. and his children John Gary Zeitz, III and Connor Zeitz. She will also be missed by her friends, Anne, Carol, Sharon, Eric, Jackie, Denny, and Mario; and by her special friends in her time of illness, Jeannette, and Geraldine.

A private interment will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Frederick, MD. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
