Florence L. Doggett

Florence L. Doggett, 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at the Carroll Hospital Center. She was a resident of Mt. Airy, Maryland for the last several years to be closer to family.

Born on October 8, 1935, in Washington D.C., she was the daughter of the late Wilmer William and Helen Gould (Wood) Stewart. She was the wife of the late Elmore Stanley King, Jr. and the late Dr. Herbert Levi Doggett.

Florence worked for the Federal Government. She was very active in the United Methodist Church and enjoyed quilting, painting, and gardening.

Surviving Florence are daughters Susan (King) Heflin (Jay) and Laurie (King) Wilson (Michael), grandchildren Robert Wilson (Mastarin,) Patrick Wilson (Caitlin,) Ryan Wilson, Wesley Heflin; and great grandchildren Rylind Abshire, Teagan Willett, and Nase Willett.

She was predeceased by grandson Shawn Willett and sisters Grace Shultz and Edna Stewart.

Funeral services and interment in Parklawn Memorial Park will be private.
