Frances Morris, 64, of Frederick, Maryland, transitioned peacefully from this life on Monday, December 22, 2025, peacefully in Frederick, Maryland.
Born on November 12, 1961, in Frederick, she was the beloved daughter of Dorothy Morris Johnson and the late Charles H. Thomas, Sr.
Frances was a woman of quiet strength, unwavering loyalty, and fierce devotion to those she loved. She was naturally protective of her family and did not easily open herself to everyone she met. Yet, those fortunate enough to truly know her understood that behind her guarded exterior was a gentle, caring, and deeply loving heart. Frances showed her love not through grand gestures, but through her consistency, presence, and steadfast commitment to those she held dear.
She leaves to cherish her mother, Dorothy Johnson; her daughter Brittney Ferguson and her husband Michael Ferguson; her brother, William Johnson (Billy Joe); her niece, Tiara Johnson of VA, her half-brother, Charles H. Thomas Jr. and his wife Darnella of Westminster, Maryland; her half-sister, Brigitte Thomas of Baltimore, Maryland;
Frances was a proud and devoted grandmother to her two treasured grandchildren, Messiah Ferguson and Mateus Ferguson, who brought immense joy and light into her life.
Frances was preceded in death by her father, Charles H. Thomas Sr.; her beloved son, Darnell D. Foreman; and several cherished aunts, uncles, grandmothers and great grandmothers.
Frances served many years working at Seneca Creek State Park in Gaithersburg, MD. Creativity was one of Frances’s greatest gifts. She had a deep love for baking and interior decorating and spent many years involved with Home Interior Decorations, where her artistic eye and appreciation for beauty were evident. She took great pride in creating warm, welcoming spaces and sharing her talents with others. Frances was also especially proud to have recently completed a bi-lingual program that she worked diligently to finish, a true reflection of her determination, resilience, and perseverance.
The family will receive friends from 10:00–11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Maryland. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Knoxville, Maryland.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Frances by embracing what brought her joy. Decorating your home, plant something beautiful, or add a meaningful touch that makes your space more welcoming.
